Welcome to our Church

There is a lot of history here, a very active present, and an awful lot of future. I hope that's what is reflected on this web site and in the links available - our recognition and respect of past Anglican tradition, our varied forms of liturgical worship, and the energy and vibrancy that surrounds this parish now.

It's a busy place here. On site here is the Kingsway College School as well as the St. George's Nursery School. We also have a badminton club, a bridge club, a archives/heritage committee, a gardener's guild, a Youth Group, Scouting Groups, Guides, Pathfinders, the Dorothy Ley Hospice Respite Program, the largest A.A. meeting in this part of the city, and a great deal more. St. George's-on-the-hill is a very busy place, indeed.

In the midst of all this 'busy-ness' there is also a sanctuary in which the gifts of liturgy, prayer and silence are offered.

On this web site you'll find descriptions of some of the liturgies offered during the week ; you'll get glimpses of some of the most beautiful stained glass windows; you'll have a chance to review some history from 1844 to the present and you'll be clued in to where we're at in our current outreach projects, youth group activities, and upcoming events.

The Dragon's Diary is a sort of ‘editorial page’ through which I get to vent, wonder, share a laugh or two, or just muse about the daily and weekly comedy and drama of being a parish priest. It’s an interactive page – which is to say there is an e-mail address on the page you can use to immediately comment on the Diary’s content that day or week. The Dragon’s Diary is updated rather frequently, so it’s worth coming back to and checking out now and again. And of course “The opinions expressed through the Dragon’s Diary are those of the author and do not necessarily represent in any way shape or form the opinions of the Diocese of Toronto…etc. etc. etc.” – you get the picture! I hope you enjoy the Diary, and please do feel invited to respond to the mental wanderings!

If you're looking for a Christian community to get involved with, then check out St. George's-on-the-hill - first on the web and then in person! It's a great community with a strong future. And who knows? You might be called to be a part of that future!
