OUTREACH AT ST. GEORGE'SOutreach is the commitment to live out the promise of our baptism -- to act and advocate for the dignity of every human person. Outreach can be different things for different people. For some, it means speaking out against global or national issues of social injustice and standing up for human rights. For others, it is working to raise awareness and resources to support economic development, rebuilding or recovery abroad. For still others, outreach means working to meet the most basic needs in our own community -- helping to feed and shelter the hungry and the homeless while advocating for supportive economic and social systems. But for all, outreach means the challenge to hear God's call to serve...wherever and whenever we can. |
